LA Chargers

Logo Study, 2017
This mark rethinks the use of the Chargers' lightning bolt icon as part of the LA acronym, differentiating it from the Dodgers' logo and creating a unique image to mark the team's move to their new city.

With yellow as part of the primary color scheme of the LA Chargers, it was important that the new mark read well with color applied.

Playing with a design often leads me to different solutions that I would have never previously considered. This variation on the previous symbol is a result of this practice.

The concept of the booklet was not to simply showcase the faculty’s work but to also emphasize their involvement advising and mentoring students. To give further meaning to the Ward Island 12 name, the faculty is presented ir order of seniority.

Through extreme use of color, non-traditional layout and typography choices, the design of this booklet visually represented the diversity of the faculty while serving as an artifact that promoted my own personal narrative of non-conformist design.

The History Factory
One of two books being designed, this version targeted youth ages 12–17 and was meant to better educate them of the past, present and future operations and technologies of Saudi Aramco. Carefully researching cultural aspects of Saudi Arabian architecture, textiles and everyday life, the design clearly presented the author’s information while subtly referencing Saudi Arabian culture through the use of color, patterns and textures.

Creative Tantrum Identity
Creative Tantrum Identity

Describe the creative process as childish fit of rage was an enormous risk when I first developed the name and identity of my own company. However after painstakingly developing the logo and corresponding marketing language, a creative tantrum became a positive measure for quality design.

By creating an off-kilter layout for the business system, the concept behind the company was further communicated through with its business system design.

The original project proposal was to include a single design to advertise the upcoming event. Instead I proposed that a series of three posters would offer variety ultimately generating more interest for the event.

Previously the desktops on the lab computers were wasted space. Seeing the opportunity to passively educate and inform students I created a modular template that could be updated with information pertaining to upcoming classes, recent publications, networking opportunities and the work of their peers.

Leveraging the history of the Gore corporation this design had to clearly present the story developed by the curator, author and editor. Proportionately splitting the page using contrast allowed for inclusion of a time line adding important visual elements to the descriptive story above.

The biggest challenge was creating a business card design to accommodate all the requested information by the client. This included both individual and business information including but not limited to direct and cell numbers, email, main switchboard, fax number, physical and web addresses, person’s title and the company’s legal name.
