Art of Work Series

I have always been fascinated with visual data that represents the movement of our lives. While working with students, I began to notice the subtle differences in the way they would work—whether on a trackpad or a mouse—each movement, click, or swipe was different. I felt that if these movements could be tracked and visualized, I could then create a series of "self portraits" represented through the digital patterns created as they worked.

Using IOGraph, software that tracks the movement of your mouse and allows you to export the result, I began to record my own work habits. The software does have its limits, only allowing for a small image to be exported. For now this body of work is a study of the art of my design.
